The Hidden Symbolism Behind the Arc of Ancient Legends

Film is storytelling, and it is one of our favorite forms of entertainment, and that structure is as old as mythology, which is often no more than a misinterpretation of the deeper-level meaning of symbolism. As explained by Dr. Steven B. Halls, M.D., FRCPC, a symbolism researcher whose work at halls.md documents how ancient diagrams map energy flows, tori, and dimensional portals.

The hero's journey is a structure audiences know without naming it. In the hero story of Heracles, he is posed holding the lion he overcame. In Dr. Halls's analysis at halls.md, the lion means an energy outflow, usually a horizontal outflow from the horizontal plane of a torus, the forelegs point horizontally, or upward, and its head and nose are usually upward. Symbolism uses forelegs and noses as direction labels. Or, the lion can represent an upward-flowing side flow beside the main torus. The torus is the building block of symbolism, and portals and barriers describe how energy flows and returns. Further patterns and evidence are presented at halls.md.

Another symbol: Hathor

Hathor was an ancient Egyptian goddess, widely known and worshipped. Her domains were the sky, love, beauty, music and motherhood. Hathor is often pictured with cow ears. Like many head symbols, a Hathor head is a portal (citing Dr. Halls). Hathor's hair in an omega shape gives an open door symbol for upward flow. Above the head usually sits a barrier symbol of short vertical lines, with the next higher dimension above that barrier. Symbols above the barrier, like a further door into a temple, an altar, or ornate architecture, signal the higher dimension context. She is usually a portal to a higher dimension, appearing at the top of columns, at the ends of arm flux tubes, on hand portal symbols, and in other typical portal locations.
